Thoughts on my Central American

boa2cobras Oct 20, 2011 08:33 AM

I have this Central American that I think is pretty cool looking. She has pretty normal color on the top of her body, but both of her sides are silver/gray and the pattern is really reduced. There are also spots of pink on her sides. Has anyone seen a boa like this before? She is only about 4 feet long now, but I would like to breed her when she gets older. I would like to be able to produce more that look like her, but I'm not sure how I would go about that. Any thoughts on her and what I could do with her would be appreciated. Thanks.

Beautiful Girl you have there! I'm sure if you breed her to another central, even if the male doesn't share some of her looks you could still produce babies that will look just like mom. I have noticed that anything can pop up from boa breeding nowadays. Most common gene's popping up with wild type centrals are ghost's and anerys when the breeders are breeding them. I really need some central in my collection I've noticed the T positives are becoming more pronounced with color which excites me.

I have a "dinker" female similar to that one (sorta raptor-like/sorta Inca-like, but not quite) and mine is redder instead of pink and has some blue-gray on the sides. It'll likely be a couple years before mine is big enough to breed to see what happens.

My experience is that all of the great colored T-positive C. Am's have been outcrossed to other locales instead of pure Nic's (usually Cancun), or are the Hondurans (in Europe only?) and Mr. Frade's "new line" that I'm not sure of locale info' on. It would be nice to see pure Nic's selectively bred for color...there are actually some nice ones out there.
