Marron Hypos and Marron Het Sharp Albino

norajohn Oct 20, 2011 02:07 PM

As promised here are some of the marron and non marron offspring born on 9/8/2011 from my Sharp Sunglow female and 08 Marron male #44. I am very happy with the offspring from this pairing and I have been asked how hard it was to pick out the marrons. It really has not been hard at all and to show why I am posting a picture of a normal hypo and a normal non Marron offspring which should show the difference. With the hypos it did take one shed for them to really show up, but the key on them is they are super clean and just intensely colored after the first shed. These photos are from about 14 days ago, so they were just under 30 days old. Unlabeled photo is a female marron hypo het sharp.

I am really looking forward to seeing a marron sharp albino, or Sunglow in the future, but one thing I am curious about is how these marron het sharp offspring would tie in with some of the T Positive boa lines out there that are compatible with the Sharp Albinos? I am really not up to speed on those lines, so if anyone reading this knows the potential I would appreciate any information you might care to post. Hopefully Jeff or big Mike will see this.

I am open to questions and comments, so fire away.

Thanks for the photos John, that is a fantastic litter. I would love to see a couple of comparison pics of the marron hypos and the hypos after a couple more sheds. My thoughts and hopes are, it will be even clearer as to what is a hypo marron the older they get.

Thanks for another wonderful litter and shedding light on a very interesting breading.

Wow is all that I can say. Very exciting to be able to tell marron from non marron with such ease. Huge congrats to you. The marron sharp is going to be ridiculous !

Those are really nice looking, not too mention thier potential for future offspring.
The color reminds me of what I see on my Key West het sharps.

I guess my biggest question and I have never seen this answered... for a marron, what are the markers that it is 100 % marron.
I take it that it is similar to jungle to where some are harder to determine then others. I suppose in a litter with normals they stand out.
But standing alone, someone brings up a marron, what do you look for or would indicate that this is 100% a marron.

I Love them!

Id love to own one.

I dont believe they have any markers. You need to buy from reputable dealers. Their arent many out there that have marrons yet and even fewer who have produced offspring. I still dont think my male really looks like a normal pastel (M45)

Mike,

I am no expert as this is my first clutch with them, but here is what I can tell you from this one clutch. It really just seems to be a color thing. There are just those babies that really stand out being very light, very clean and very pink, with really orange/red medallions on sides of tail (actually similar to the tail medallions you see on some Jungles, (especially those Jungles het T Plus). If you look at my continued post you can compare the marrons to what is a typical normal from clutch and a typical hypo. The normal is very average looking and the marrons stand out quite strongly from those.

Just my experience on this one clutch.
