Turtle Pellets

ecbiomajor Oct 02, 2003 08:31 AM

It appears that much of the nutrients in turtle pellets are essentials for salamanders, with some differences of course. How healthy is this food source for a salamander? One of my friends was feeding one of my turtles the other day, and he decided to drop a few into the salamander vivarium. I became rather angry when he informed me of this, because he did not ask if he could do this, or ask what the sallies ate. As I looked in there, two of them were already sniffing out the pellets, and then they gobbled them up quickly. They seem to be doing fine now, so hopefully it has no negative effects. I know a lot of people start their axolotyls on this food source, but what about terrestrials? Let me know what you think.

I think that as an occasional food, they are fine.
