Funnily enough, I've just started to "grow" my own. Grow being the operative word cos they grow at an amazing rate and eat an awful lot of silkworm chow. Some of them are huge and show no sign of making their cocoons yet. Also another problem I have is that they are really cute and I don't find it easy to feed them to my pets.

I think it may become quite expensive to feed them. I've only had them since the 19th September and I've used 2 of the 4 x 100g packets of chow that came with the kit. I've mislaid my instuction book but I think that the chow costs about £3 per 100g and that doesn't include p&p. It may be that I will be spening £14 a month just on the food. I don't know yet how it will work out. Perhaps I shouldn't have so many left or have let them grow so big. Trial and error I guess.

Oh, and they poo a lot so an awful lot of cleaning out is required - I do it every other day now they are so big.

I hope the above has been of some help.

Good luck. Colleen
