Set ups

I have my baby boa in a 15gallon high tank for now. She's fine in there. Right now she is in a shed cycle. I have a big branch for her to climb on ...which she does. Also water bowl an something to hide under. 75 watt red light for heat.

Was wondering how others have their boas...babies an adults... set up an if they drink from a bowl. I misted her this morning an she was sucking the water from the side of the glass. Do babies usually do this? She was born in July. Has eaten 2 times for me an is really nice to handle. She is a DH Sunglow.

Thank you for replies.

Honestly fish tanks are usually more trouble than they are worth.

Most Boa people at some point or another have been through "Fish Tank " phase.

I suggest looking for a nice Rubbermaid , Sterilite or Iris type
plastic container to use as your Boa enclosure.

These plastic containers work extremely well for maintaining ideal
heat and humidity for Boa c of all species/sub species.

With the glass fish tank you'll find it becomes a challenge to keep proper temps and even more so proper humidity levels of 50% - 70% levels.

Also there are really great plastic professional enclosures such as Boaphile Plastics which happens to be
the type I prefer and I'm now building a larger presence of Boaphile Plastics cages in my place.

Your Boa will thrive in any plastic container you choose.

Of course a reliable thermostat is required to maintain proper
temps in any enclosure you choose to use.

I apologize for the poor lighting. These cages are very simple and are perfect for young boas or even adults of smaller boa varieties. The smaller 24 inch model shown in bubble wrap will house a baby boa for awhile and beats the heck out of a glass tank for ease of heating, keeping humidity and cleaning. Of course as mentioned by LarM, equally effective are inexpensive plastic household storage containers.

I'd say if you have a small collection I would shoot for those neodesha cages posted earlier or even the vision cages they are great to set up and with only a handful of snakes a nice naturalistic enclose sure does look nice!

I currently use Sentec products.

But I do have a vision I decorated.

But this is the standard established set up for a smaller boa until they outgrow this then go into a CB70 Rack

Once they make it to the CB70 not much changes. In this photo I have corrugated cardboard which I use in my adults cages. I am switching over my cb70 cages to Sani chips as my smaller boas are on them as well

All in all if you have the space and only a small number of boas decorate a cage they will enjoy it. Sure beats sitting in a box with just a water bowl I would love to do it myself!
