Fire prevention.

I found this company that manufactures fire suppression systems. Cease Fire, Inc. They're online and worth checking out...and definitely worth the expense, God I wish I'd known about them sooner. The system(s) consists of self contained cells, that work just like a fire extinguisher, and that's activated just like a fire sprinkler system. No electrical wires or false alarms to worry about. And there's no smoke detection either, it's purely the heat caused by fire (155 degrees I think) Check out the video on their website. I know some of you will probably already be familiar with them, but for the ones who aren't...here ya go.

are those hooked up with a water pipe or are free standing like a fire extinguisher?

The reason i ask is I just checked 7 (yes seven) of my fire extinguishers (I always like to be prepared and have them in every room) and all of them had zero air in them. They leaked out over the last 3 years. they are full of the liquid. But empty as far as compressed air. So a warning for anyone who depends on those. they don't last long at all.

Also i took them to Ace hardware and home depot to see about getting a refill of air. And none of these places do that nor could they reccommend anywhere that does.

So I guess i got 7 useless full tanks minus the air.

They're free-standing.

They're free-standing.

That's cool. But my next question would be where can i get them refilled and how long does a full charge of air last?

Not sure if you guys are aware of this but the regular sprinkler heads you see in hotels, offices etc are only about 15 bucks apiece. The residential version works on standard cpvc.It plumbs as easy as a lawn sprinkler system. You just need a supply thats close like a hose bib or a washing machine hook-up.I think a head is good for like 15x15.You could plumb 2 heads for 50 bucks or so.Just food for thought.

You might try your local fire station. Every kitchen I have worked in must have a yearly inspection on their extinguishers (sp)lol... They are not required to get new ones, I believe they are serviced by the fire dept.

Im sure it depends on the size type and quality...

Its worth a shot!

I found one site, but says, under construction? Will it harm the snakes? Like removing the oxygen from the room?
