That is really cool. I've always like that species. Are you allowed to collect them and breed them then sell them there in Texas?

Yes sir....alterna along with numerous native reptiles are on the Texas Parks and Wildlife white list. A few are on the Black List and cannot be commercially bred or sold but one can have up to 6 of the black list animals......
I purchase a Non Game Dealer's License when I get my hunting license and now a new herp stamp so I can hunt on the ROWs. With the Non Game Dealer's Permit I can sell them to anyone and breed them.....There's just a few rules and regs to follow though.

Texas is considered a reptile friendly state in my opinion......Glad they lifted the road cruising ban too....

Yeah, that's a good deal. I wish our laws were a little more flexible. I heard about the lift of the road banned, good for you guys, they never should have outlawed it.

Yeah...but those Rattlesnake eating Indigos are protected and it isn't because their population is on the decline either.....it's because the redneck law makers likem becuz they eat rattlesnakes......LOL

Plus I live in a city that has an ordinance against all boas, pythons and monitor lizards.........
