Granite Alterna?

Jlassiter Nov 01, 2011 06:57 PM

Did anyone see the Granite Alterna at Daytona?
The guy (I forget who it was) claimed they were a recessive morph?

Are all of the speckled alterna recessive? How about the Black Gap speckleds? Or the one that Mike Russo posted? I see the Coffey line speckled blairs are......

Or is it just these "granites?"

John, those granites in Daytona were at Suncoast's table. Unfortunately that isn't a true simple recessive. It is a line bred trait, works kinda in the same fashion as the striped gene in ruthveni. Or even more so like the granite gene in L.m.mexicana. Brandon Osborne had some from that line for sale a while ago on the classifieds.

This is how it was explained to me from John at Suncoast. Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong.

Jimmy, that is also how John explained it to me. I have a very nice female Granite and a male from the same line. If they don't sell, I'll give it another go next season. They are very cool looking alterna.

You guys should invest in a device called a camera and take some pics of these snakes in Daytona. It takes a second to snap a pic and the memories last a lifetime.
