possibly constipated?

djfuente Oct 02, 2003 11:12 AM

So giblet at a lot at one time yesterday. She's now 9" long and I was feeding her half in crix yesterday and she was eating very aggressively, to the point that she would go for another criket before swallowing the one she had in her mouth. So this morning I'm expecting the motherload to clean up but instead I find a relatively small stool. I know that there has got to be more in there, I mean she ate almost 30 crix yesterday with about 15 of those coming in the morning. She has also been acting a little weird. She's been at the bottom of her cage for quite sometime and usually she's up in her branches, she usually spends 90% of the day up there. Also, she's not moving as much...her back legs work, she just seems a little more mellow or passive today because she'll just stay wherever I leave her for the most part. She has eaten some today and her appetite seems almost as good as normal, but I've been reluctant to let her eat too much. She has been somewhat constipated before in the past, but she wasn't acting as odd as she is now. Her lack of energy as it seems is what concerns me.

even if you dont think shes impacted, it couldnt hurt to treat her the same way. id raise the basking spot a bit to help her digest, and give her a nice warm bath and tummy massage

right after i post my message above, Giblet jumps up to her pooping spot and drops some kids off. Oh well, I guess no more need for help for now, thanks though
