Super Pastel Butter... Ghost?

SpaidsReptiles Nov 03, 2011 09:21 PM

Hey guys,
we bred our Pastel Butter Ghost to a Pastel het ghost and ended up with this pair, along with 2 butters a pastel and a ghost. To me they are both definately Super Pastel Butters, but the Male (on the right) could have the visual ghost gene as well? I would like your oppinions on these 2.
Thanks for looking

I'd have to say they're definitely not Supers.
Maybe a Pastel Butter and a regular Butter...What's the rest of the clutch look like?

SpaidsReptiles Nov 03, 2011 10:50 PM

I guess i gotta get my light box finished so i can capture the color on these two better. I'll try to get it fixed and post pics of the whole clutch, the two normal butters are a lot darker and no where near the blushing.
Thanks for the reply tho!

The left one looks like a super pastel butter, and the right one looks like a nice pastel butter. Neither one of them look to be ghosts, but they are still very nice, and at least the are 100% het for ghost, congrats!

She is in shed, so almost looks like a ghost, sort of. She is a Super Pastel Butter.

Nice snake, she looks almost identical to my Super Pastel Lesser.

No wonder. They are the same thing, only different.

JYohe Nov 04, 2011 03:50 PM

I thought the same thing....I didn't see ghost...and I actually don't see super pastel either....they look like pastel butters...?

...but I never hatched any...(but I did hatch like 7 pastel lessers this year)...

...good luck...!!!

Here is a super pastel butter, all of the ones I hatch have the white head when they are born. The super pastel ghost is tough to identify.

Hey Guys thanks for all the comments,

I did get 2 plain butters het ghost in the clutch, and i do have a pastel butter from a different clutch.

When these 2 hatched, they were basically white with the darker pattern, seemed to dark to be ghost to me, but they didn't look like the Super Pastel we hatched earlier in the year.

They had very close, if not, white heads and still have very very light heads. i'm going to take new pictures with a black background to try to capture the blushing and their color better.

and i'll put a plain butter sib, and the pastel butter (she's older so i didn't include a pic of her before)

thanks again for the comments, hopefully i can capture what they look like better on my second try.

Thanks!
