Other than milks, what else do you keep?

Dniles Nov 06, 2011 05:26 PM

We usually do this a couple times of year and I'm interested to see what my fellow milkheads have in their collections. I'm probably 90% milks so I don't have much other than triangulum but here's what I've got:

Hypo prairie king - this male will be paired up with Mitch's female this spring to produce some hypos next year!

Jasper county SC getula

Harris county TX holbrooki

female

male

Miami-Dade county brooksi

Eagles Nest alterna

Amazon Basin emerald tree boa

Those are some outstanding animals you have there Dave. I really like that eagle's nest pair!!! How is feeding time with that big head, heat pit sensing, recurved teeth--give you stitches eating machine? Long tongs I would assume!!

you know it, Joe! Let's put it this way, I don't try to change her water at night or do any cage cleaning then! ha ha ha

Dave, I remember seeing a skull from one of those and freaking out. Looks like a Gaboon Viper mouth with ALL fangs!!! I cannot imagine the wound that snake would inflict.

Sweet stuff Dave!!! I really like those hypo prairies too. Cant wait to see the offspring next year. Here's a few non milks of my own.

A couple thayeri I produced this year from a melanistic male and a low black female.

A nice male Steve Osborne line knoblochi I produced in 2010

I am also working with the Amealco ruthveni. Both amel and striped, I produced all these this year.

Then comes the Coffey line aberrant alterna. Generic, but really nice. First 2 pics are of a couple aberrant females, and the last is the het male. I also have a nice het female too. Hopefully these will go in 2013 if not the following year for sure.

Thanks for looking, looking forward to what everyone else posts.

A lot or them come from turtle farms and others from a couple friends of mine. We work together depending on what the animal needs and where we live.

Cool post, Dave! I really like that Tree Boa and those alterna. Super nice.

In addition to milks, which make up the exceeding majority of my collection, I keep a few zonata, some Amazon Tree Boas, a few Leopard Geckos (they're the wife's), and a colony of Rubber Boas. I've also got a pair of Crested Geckos on my desk at work. Besides herps, I keep a few tarantulas, mantids, and other inverts.

We also have two dogs and a cat.
