Which makes a better "pet" bull or pine?

pinkypie Nov 09, 2011 09:59 AM

I want to get another pit for my birthday next year.Either a Northern pine or a nice big albino bull.
But which makes a better pet as in taking out and handling yet keeping the nice pit personality? Are they both pretty shy snakes or is one less nervous then the other?

Also I seem to have a hard time finding breeders.I see on this forum that plenty of people breed them but noone seems to sell them.I dont want to go to a petstore or flipper.I would like one that is not a mutt, like the questionable Sonoran that I already have(still like her though)..

I think bulls are great pets, but then I am both prejudiced and have no experience with pines. When I handle my bulls I let them slide through my hands, not try to restrain them, as they seem to like to be free to move, not coil up like a ball python or such.

I recommend Jason Nelson as the go-to guy for pits.

I personally think bulls tend to be more forward and willing to eat than Pines. But they are really close... It's really an individual animal sort of thing. Good luck!
