The worms that come in cricket shipments (I think) are called potato bugs. At least that is what I've always been told. The bugs are actually good to have in with the crickets because when crickets die or shed the worms will eat that stuff. So they also help to keep the smell down. Also as far as I know the worms are not bad for reptiles to eat.

Some places keep bugs that eat the dead crickets in there large bins. Sometimes a few of these get into the orders that they ship out to customers. I always kill them anyway, cause I'm not sure exactly which ones do eat the dead ones and which ones are not suppose to be in with them. Maybe someone else can describe these bugs that are beneficial to the crickets for you in greater detail. Sorry

they eat all the dead crickets.. you are speaking of the black fuzzy wormy type things (for the life of me i cant remember what they are called) , they will keep the bins clean and free of dead crickets, and well if ya dont want em in there, they make a very tasty treat for your dragons, they just love them, either way they are harmless

I beleive they are the larva of a type of carrion beetle. The adult beetle are narrow, dull black with a yellowy band in the middle.
