What Should I Breed?

SlidellReptileRescue Nov 10, 2011 03:06 PM

I posted a message on here a while back and got some great advice. Now that I've refined my collection a bit to be more heavy with females I'd like some more input from those that know. Here is what I currently have in my rack and what I'd like to know is what males should I be purchasing to produce some "good" stuff...forgive my ignorance but I breed ackies and the morph thing is new to me so I'm still learning. My goal is to start slow and hopefully make enough off this year's breeding to get some more "high-end" stuff for the future.

Females:
- Pied
- Lemonblast
- 2 Spiders
- Pastel
- Killerbee

Males:
- Super Pastel
- Bumblebee
- Pied
- Mojave

I know it's not the biggest collection but I'm not here for bragging rights, just asking for advice....Any recommendations for what I should be pairing with what or purchasing as breeding partners would be very appreciated.

Just my opinion but this way you cover with low end prices and high end prices...your covering a wide spectrum of market prices and the lower end stuff will sell quicker and your not feeding everything you produce for 6 months.

Pied to Pied
Bee to Lemon Blast
Mojo to both Spiders
Bee to Pastel
Super Pastel to Killer Bee

With what you have you might consider getting into some Ghost genes when it comes to females.
BTW...You have a nice start to any collection.

imo i think travis hit it right on the head for your pairings and as for your collection, i have 30 snakes now but all single morphs, recessive, hets, normals, i would say you have a great collection to start off with.
