keeping C. glabinifrons

blue_beauty Oct 02, 2003 01:19 PM

Hi, does anyone know how to keep Cuora galbinifrons? I have been interested in them for some time now and have been thinking about possibly getting some. I know many of the imports are extremely hard to acclimate. If at all possible I would like to get a CB, but first I would like to know how to properly care for them. Thanks, Alex

A Google search gets over 900 hits, some may need to be translated but that's sometimes needed in good research.
A fine starting place for almost any species of Chelonia is www.chelonia.org!
For instance, and in particular:

there is a yahoo group for galbies which has a few members who have kept them for many years. most of the stories are very disheartening. think carefully before jumping into this one.

C. galbinifrons is a wonderful aminal but need good care. I am keeping one since 2001 but I can't say I know how to keep it. If you want to buy a CB, that is good but don't buy any imported aminal. As I know in Asia, there is no turtle farm breeding C. galbinifrons. www.chelonia.org is a important site about C. galbinifrons.
