Eggs died.. looking for alittle advice.

Jilazee May 27, 2003 02:35 AM

My female laid eggs about a week ago now. Since I put them in my incubator they have dented rather severely They are being kept at 85f. I hazard a guess that they are not fertile since they didn't harden at all. I know that the humidity was a problem, and the only other thing I can think of is they spent their 1st night at about 77-80f.

Anyone had this before or can offer some advice to prevent this happening again?

ops I meant the humidity wasn't a problem. I used the advised 1:1 Ratio for substrate and water.

by chance was it the females first time ever laying? sometimes first timer females will lay bad eggs (for the first clutch only) its either that or perhaps the male stimulated her into producing folicies but they did not get fertilized (unfertilized eggs). it sounds as if they are infertile especially considering they are caving in at only two weeks. now remember reptile eggs do not get hard, they get firm but with more of a leathery type shell than a hard chicken eggs shell-robin
