Is it normal to go on a hunger strike?

pinkypie Nov 19, 2011 09:09 PM

Since the weather has gotten colder he hasnt eaten since the first week of October. Is this normal behavior for an adult male hoggie?
Should I worry? He also has been digging down into the dirt(I use a mix of eco earth and sand)and gets rather pissy when I dig him out.
Maybe I need to just bump up his heat or should I let him do his thing?
Thanks all

I have a blue light for heat, should I leave it as is or turn it down? The room stays pretty warm at around mid 70's.

If they haven't eaten in at least 2 weeks and there stomachs are empty i turn the heat off for winter , i use belly heat so its easier than a light. from what i understand they need temps of around 60 F

It's that time of year. All of my males quit eating at least amonth ago. The females are done too. I open the window to my snakeroom, turn the thermostats down to 50, and hope we get winter. Here in SE Tx, it doesn't get too cold.
