And it's not an Ultra Granite.....
But she is from a Black Phase Male and a het for Hypo-e female...

Great, classic look on this gal with tons of cool genetics:

See....guess I have good taste....ooh
Thanks Billy....

But she is actually lighter and brighter than a normal phenotype female Mex Mex.......

Typically a female Mex Mex is darker and drab in color.......

It is a form of dimorphism that occurs with Mex Mex.....there's a couple other dimorphically traits Mex Mex have as well......

Anyone know them?

Hey John -- it seems to me that there are more drab and "sooty" looking female thayeri than male thayeri -- with dramatic exceptions, of course! Just my observation . . .

Yep...it does seem that Mex Mex, Thayeri and Ruthveni females are "dirtier" looking than males......Maybe it has something to do with camo......

There are two other dimorphic differences with Mex Mex that I've noticed. Males obtain an overall larger size than females.

And.... The "high saddled" ones are always females. But not all females have high saddles. Plus this observation has only held true with classic Mex Mex....not with the granite mutation.....

I think Bob Hansen hatched out a normal male this year with some high saddles too.......Which would be a first for me over the last 18 years of working with Mex Mex.

John -- the head pattern is fantastic! I'd give her the nickname "Rorschach". I can see why she's one of your favs. Is she one of your hatchlings?

Thanks Tom....She is one of my yearlings that I hatched out last year. She is from Shannon's Black Phase male and Shannon's Het for Hypo-E female.......I think the Hypo-E gene is responsible for her bright/clean colors......

I have 2 males that'll be ready for her in 2013...I hope....
Both from the black male and my Hypo-E female...One is starting to lighten to pink already at 4 months of age...Maybe he'll turn black too....fingers crossed.

BTW...Rorschach is a cool name.....Like in the Ink Blot test or in the movie the "Watchmen?"

You can`t stop posting mex mex pics?

Very nice example of your stock, the light ground-color looks unusual...hope you can produce some black-phase hypoerythristic with her.

Don`t you wanna show me the rest of your mexicana-colection?
lol...
