Howdy peeps. Ya know, I’ve been watching a lot of things going on in the herp industry. I attend a lot of shows when I can and I take pride in our ability to keep herps. But what I’ve seen lately really gets to me and it’s the lack of organization in fighting for our rights.
Our main defense is USARK. But, I’d really like to know exactly whats going on in that organization?
Heres what I see in updates:
Hey, were going to be at this or that show. Come give us money!
Hey, were going to this show now…come give us money!
Hey folks,were fighting for your rights by attenting herp shows and shaking hands and smiling. Come give us money!
Uh oh…bad stuff is happening. We need more money!
Meanwhile, I aint seeing any listing of what this money has gone to? Have you? What have they done so far for us?
This Andrew Wyatt guy, he seems nice and all…but what qualifies him to represent us? I tried doing some homework, but I really cant find much of anything about the guy. Does he have a degree? Is it in law, biology, zoology…?

Next- Kingsnake…I’m ashamed of you. You have been long time members of the herp scene and have supported keepers for a long time. Why aint you guys doing something? I’m sure you gotta be making some money and can put that towars fighting for keepers rights! Otherwise, you don’t have a following when we all lose our rights. Whats the point then?
I know I have my issues with usark, but since that’s all were screwed with, might as well use em’. Since you guys aint doing nothing for us, then how come you aint trying to support the one group who is?
Were all losing our rights because nobody want to do the right thing.

Tell us what you have done to help the effort and maybe everyone can all learn from your example and ideas.

Obviously you have not been paying attention. USARK has won many battles on our behalf ( Our meaning All of us Reptile people ) .

USARK continues to fight the fight plus they have hired Lobbyist
and attorney's to help when needed.

I know what USARK is doing with the money from donations and memberships.
They are fighting to save our Hobby/business

I also know it's very very very expensive to fight federal threats as well as State to State threats.

I'm curious what you've contributed, did you help out with any of the letter campaigns ?

Did you go to your Local Reptile/Herp Show and get signatures on letters to send to USARK in Washington.

I know I did, I donated my time and my money. I printed up hundreds of letters to be sent to my Senators and Congressman.
Took those letters to my local Reptile show and got hundreds of Signatures on those letters.
I then FedExed those letters to USAK and the Lobbyists we have in Washington so
they were hand delivered to my Representatives.

That's only a small part of what I've done.

I fully support USARK without them our hobby would already be shut down many times over.

For a few days now USARK Website has been experiencing technical difficulties.
I'm certain these issues will be ironed out soon.

What you do not understand is the wheels in these processes to NOT play out in public. NOBODY wants to publicly embarrassed and in order to be successful, which we and USARK has been at every single turn so far, we move forward preventing as much as possible without publicly embarrassing anyone.

Without the combined efforts of USARK, PIJAC AND Kingsnake, we all would be out of business. The US Fish and Wildlife Service assumed there would be no reaction and the taking down of nine constrictors was a done deal. These three organizations together with the thousands who have supported USARK, PIJAC and kingsnake, have made the difference.

Andrew Wyatt is NOT USARK. USARK would not be what it is without Andrew Wyatt to be sure. The USARK Board of Directors, of which I am one, oversee what Andrew and USARK does. Additionally key supporters of USARK are privy to information that has allowed them to see fit that USARK is supported by allowing auctions at their respective Shows. Andrew is directly accountable to us and as such, Andrew is doing a fantastic job protecting ALL of our rights. Lobying efforts cost tens of thousands of dollars. The Economic Impact study that USARK paid for Cost tens of thousands of dollars. NOBODY is pocketing the money raised for USARK.

Just because you don't see video clips of Dirty Harry taking out the bad guys, does not mean nothing is happening. A LOT of people who have invested thousands of their own dollars, and their blood sweat and tears working on behalf of those who support our efforts AND those who from their computer keyboard criticize mistakenly not knowing everything that goes on. We do need the support of everyone and we are defending all of our rights.

Freedoms aren't free fryday. We're up against the most powerful entity on the planet, the U.S. government, do the logistics on that alone and then whip out your credit card and make a donation to USARK.

Your post makes absolutely no sense, are you legal to drive? No offense, but it's that only would a child pretend to be as concern as you portray yet have done zero leg work other than a posted rant. All your concerns and questions' answers are either obvious in front of you (for there would be no Boa forum or classifieds if it werent for USARK's efforts), or easily discovered by just paying some attention and doing simple due diligence. In closing I wanna just say that it's been a while since I've seen such an ignorant post. Wise up.....
