Mixed venom?

krazyblurtz Oct 02, 2003 04:01 PM

Hey, I was wondering what happens to venom lets see a sidewinder/mojave/atrox, or even scorpion venom gets mixed together? Do the venoms actualy interact, mix or will they both just have the same affect if injected into an animal? I have been out of herps and hots for a while can barely remember what all different crots venom do, if anyone could remind me I would appreciate it.
Thanks,

its be a very long day so the post not might make much sense

Snake venom is composed of a variety of different proteins which each interact with other proteins causing them to be unable to carry out their functions. As long as the proteins dont interact and bind with one another, the should mix quite nice and may even increase the toxicity if different proteins begin to interact with different proteins in the body.
