Is it Really Bad to Make Changes To my Cham's Cage?

SaveFerris Oct 02, 2003 04:31 PM

Im considering getting a new cage for my veiled. As well as adding new plants and decoration. Some websites say not to change things because it causes too much stress. Is that true?

It's no cause for worry.
They're basically concerned about their territory being altered. But if the cage you make now is more comfortable than the one you had before, more space, foliage and fun, then of course it's going to benefit your chameleon.

I'm sure he won't care, and if he does, he'll get over it as soon as you feed him.

I think that in a new territory they have to get that "safe" feeling back of knowing there are no predators around.
If he does get stressed for some reason, just go easy on the handling etc and hand feed him lots of treats.

He'll be fine. They go through more stress during shipping than anything. Changing cages is nothing..
I just put my panther in a different cage and he's the same as always evil
