Snow California Kings

dnr9488 Nov 29, 2011 05:04 PM

Finally got my phone to work, here are some pictures of the snows I asked about. I also forgot to introduce myself before. I'm not a big time breeder, snakes are more of a hobby for me but I'd like to get into breeding just because. As mentioned before I have my newly acquired kingsnakes and a ball python. And, to clear up the gender confusion, I'm not a 'he'. My name is Rachel and if it's not obvious, I'm a woman.

The last one is a bad picture, just threw it in there to show the stripe along the back. All the pictures are of the female. Thanks again!

That is a Blizzard cal king, displaying both hypermelanism and albinism at the same time.

Nice SNOW ! Thanks for posting pictures. If it was a "Blizzard" it would not have a stripe (as you have clearly shown)running down her back.thanks again jenni/

It's a Blizzard, no doubt about it.

To think it is a "snow" is so unlogical as it is the same snake, just mis-labeled.

Too funny.

It's a Blizzard, most Blizzards do show some pattern.

nuff said.

If it has pattern it's not a "blizzard"

No need to act like a child and start calling people names like some on this forum.

A Blizzard (sometimes erroneously called a "snow" is a cal king that is displaying two recessive genes at the same time - hypermelanism & albinism. That does not always make them patternless. It is NOT a "snow" cal king, that is an misleading label that is incorrect in cal kings.

Trust me on this one and refrain from name calling.

If you want I can explain it to you again.

Cheers.

I'm doing good. How about you? Almost done mounting a veiled chameleon, took in another deer, and started on a lifesize mt. lion today. Tomorrow is changing rodent cages day. Yuk.... Reducing those this winter too.

Life is good, snow and rain on it's way....and Texas Hold 'Em this weekend.

Hey man! Things are going fine here. The cleanup is basically done - yeah two months later - but nevertheless...done. Now just waiting for the rebuild to start so I can look forward to a new garage. This whole thing has become to feel like somewhat of a "cleansing". Time to start over now...and I'm looking forward to it.

Anyway...short story real quick I think you'll chuckle about. A few weeks ago a call came in to the com center. A UPS driver came haulin ass back into to the local distribution center with a suspicious package he found on his truck for delivery. It was a medium sized box, but fairly heavy. It had a stench coming from it, and had what appeared to some blood soaking into the cardboard - from the inside out, and a small amount of hair fiber stuck to the packing tape. Well, the beat cop on patrol gets dispatched to go to UPS, while a couple of us in the office were notified and put on standby, in case....well you know - ever watched the movie "seven" with Brad Pitt? Well yeah, that's what we were wondering ourselves. Hahahahahaha!!!! Well after some reluctance (on the part of the patrol cop) to open the box, it turned out to be just some animal enroute to a taxidermist, and had thawed out and hadn't been packaged properly.

Talk about being a little creeped out at first. Hahaha!

Take care man!
