I recently purchased 2 African Fat Tail Geckos. They are my first geckos after keeping just about everything else. You're right though, geckos are sweet. I really want R.Ciliatus after holding them at a reptile show.

I want to keep more Aussie species.

I also kept:
- Eublepharis
- Hemitheconyx
- Goniurosaurus (3sp.)
- Coleonyx (2sp.)
- Paroedura (3sp.)
- Palmatogecko
- Tarentola gigas
- Rhacodactylus (3sp.)
- Strophurus intermedius
- Phelsuma's (4sp.)

I think that's about it.

endo Oct 11, 2003 10:19 AM

I've always liked the Strophurus gex but they're so expensive it'll be a while before I can afford to entertain that fantasy. How are they to keep? Do they calm down in captivity or are they likely to employ their unique defense mechanisms?

The Strophurus are calm in captivity.(Most of them)
I've never seen them use their defense mechanism.
Only in the wild.
