Well lets say argentine crosses... What other form of boa would be a good cross?? Im fairly new to the boa genetics... Now bp are a different story. But I have a pair of argentines and would be interested in crossing...

Arg Boas to Salmon = Salmontine . . it's been done and added to Sunglow projects etc . . etc . . . . .

The market isn't really huge for these Arg combinations at this point.

I don't believe Dumerils can breed with Boa constrictor.

Not many people would be interested either I don't believe.

sure it works. My buddy is selling some of his peruvian and argentine crosses right now....very cool looking boas with aberrant patterns.

This sort of thing is very often frowned upon....especially since some forms and localities of boa constrictor cannot be exported any longer, meaning we have a limited gene pool. These "mutt" boas are not a good idea, IMO.

I don't have a problem with BCI mutations because these are all essentially Boa c. imperator.

I know of "boa-condas(Bci to yellow)," yellow-green 'condas, atb X etb, Dum' X Colombians, rainbow X Bci (Colombian X Colombian, I believe), Dum' X grounds, and numerous subspecies mixes/intergrades. Personally, I feel that since the world in general is going to Hell, that there will be nowhere in the future to re-introduce them even if it were allowed which is unlikely, that hybrids are okay. Part of the goal is make something the publc wants that's captive produced to alleviate strains on wild populations due to collection for the pet trade. If you can produce beautiful hybrids that are marketable that do that, then why not? And, take a look at "other markets" such as tropical fish, where this purity bias is not so well established----I recently read of someone paying $600,000.00 for a particularly nice Flowerhorn (Cichlid hybrid).
