I had the worst case of an active snake trying to nose it's way out between the slinding glass doors. Of course it's nose gets raw. I found that a simple piece of rubber used to hold a few papers together fit over the glass perfectly! It's simply called a sliding bar and some clear plastic report covers also come in the package. Get them at Office Depot for $2.69 a pack.
