I'd like to get a pair or trio of '11 thayeri which would be housed together. Anyone with experience with them to tell me if this is a good idea or not? It would be a nice set-up with hides, etc.
thanks for any help...

I house many adult thayeri together....They are not known snake eaters and will do fine in a group.....IMHO
BTW...if you purchase thayeri.....Make sure they are thayeri and not MIXICANA........Just sayin...

...I would quarantine each seperately at first as standard procedure to make sure ALL are in good health to avoid any potential spread of contagions....once they all are deemed in good health, you'll feel better with them together.....

Yeah the Mexican Kings do well together. I've had a group of Mixicans living together for years. Just be very carefull at feeding time. Even ratsnakes can kinda go crazy when they smaell food, and might strike at the first thing that pops up, which might be another snakes head. I feed all my snakes in paper bags. Just roll up the ends and place back in the enclosier. Thier cheap, clean, and disposable. I buy the larger size for adult that are large. But for thayeri the small should be fine for their entire lives. A pack of 100 is about 3 bucks at Walmart. That way you know they aren't ingesting woodchips also.

Hi !
The best you can do with thayeris is keeping them together!
Get them, keep them sperated for 6-8 weeks , and place em together when the are good eaters, but seperate them when you are feeding them...and please keep only 1 male per group!
I have to disagree. I think you have a chance of one getting eaten by another, then the eater dying or regurgitating. Just my experiences with young Thayeri (2011s in your case). But it's up to you in the end. Mike Bodner

I will agree babies seem to a bit unpredictable. There is always a risk no matter how small, even with adults.
