All I know is that I am single and the LAST kind of man I want to date is a "snake guy." They make horrible boyfriends, especially if you share the hobby.

I've been trying to get my husband into snakes for years! He likes them, but he's not really that interested generally speaking. Last time he said something would be cool, I ended up with two ribbon snakes, a fish tank, and all the work! He's claiming now though that he wants a blood python - we'll see how that goes.

HAHAHA! I wouldn't bother with the Blood Python, they're pretty, but essentially giant slugs. They dont do much. If the ribbon snakes (which are adorbz BTW!) weren't exciting enough, the blood is going to be snoresville.

I've always wanted a blood, so that's fine by me. My guys run the gamut - a BP, a JCP, a BRB, and two ribbons, so there's quite a range in activity, lol! I like the challenge of different species. I distinctly remember telling him that I never wanted to maintain another fish tank, and yet here I am...and with no feeders to show for it as of yet! Stupid guppies.

*chuckle* I haven't really known any snake guys, so I'll just take your word on that one. My husband doesn't share the hobby, but he's fascinated by my animal fascination. He lets me have my animals, I let him have his guns and cameras. ;P

It does kind of make sense though. How many people out there are so afraid of snakes that just owning one would be a dealbreaker? Almost everyone I know out here would have issues with it.

I completely agree, everyone I have every dated has had a huge problem with a snake, not to mention the 50 I have. But I still find it funny that KS has a dating site now.

I lured my wife in, THEN started keeping snakes......

made a "snake" joke. I would be able to buy a hypo! That's the FIRST thing they do when they find out that I have snakes is say something like:

You can play with my snake

I have a snake you can play with

Do you like trouser snakes?

Would you kiss my snake

And it goes on and on and on, progressively getting more and more vulgar.
Its a RULE now, any guy who makes a "snake" joke, gets ignored.

I was never very sharp with the sexy snake jokes, I can't pull them off the top of my mind like that. I will have to work on a few.

Females don't have the snake shaped genitalia or lame innuendo humor to bother with such comments. Telling a guy I have snakes is apparently like opening a door to talk about his junk with innuendo.....which he apparently thinks will make me want said junk.

Over the years that kingsnake.com has been operating there have been more than a few romances started on the forums. A few even lasted for a couple years.

I can imagine that would happen. It's hard to find someone that can even tolerate the hobby, much less share the passion for it.

And I am surprised that this post has receive so much attention, I think we need to sign Jess up and find her a "snake" guy that can actually have a conversation about them and not refer to his "junk"

I am already "seeing someone" and a couple have already lined up, although none of them are snake guys.
