Can New Baby Catch Up?

pyromaniac Dec 10, 2011 09:01 AM

I recently acquired a baby bull hatched end of July, which weighed 40 grams upon arrival the other day. She is in good health but the breeder said that people at shows mostly only want babies and if the snakes look older they don't sell, hence his practice of not feeding them heavily. I feed mine as much as they will eat at their weekly feedings, mine were hatched about the same time and range in size from 78 grams of littlest one to 260 grams of Rozy, and 120 grams each for the other three. So I guess I can forget about selling mine at the shows! LOL!

Anyway, I am feeding my new baby just like I feed the ones I hatched myself. Am wondering if she will make up for lost time? I don't expect her to get as big as Rozy because that is just plain freaky, but at least catch up to Rozy's brothers.

Weighed her this morning before offering food again and she has gained 7.7 grams! Then I gave her the food and she had them all eaten in no time.
