Hi-
Well I am in the US so I am not sure what kind of stores you have up there, but I bought my green PVC coated screen through homedepot. It is marketed for use with chickens, so you may also try a feed store. I know a web site that will ship the stuff with in the US, but not Canada. Hope this helps!

I've also been looking for a suitable type of screen. I spent a good chunk of time at Lowe's today trying to find something, and the guy there said I should try a tractor/farming supply store, so I'm going to check that out tomorrow, and if they don't have it, i guess i'm outta luck. I would really appreciate it if anyone out there knows a website i could get it from, but the problem is i only need about 16' and won't be builing another cage anytime soon so a 100' or even 50' roll would be a waste. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Here is a good link for ALL kinds of hardware cloth in EVERY size it seems

Is PVC hardware cloth definately 'cricket-proof'?
The best thing is PVC coated 1/4" hardware cloth. You can order it from TSC stores, but they will likely have to special order it and you'll get about 100 feet lol. This is ok if you are going to make a few cages though, definately worth it.
What I did was use metal screen for the outside, and this stuff that looks like hardware cloth but is entirely plastic for the inside. It's a little on the ugly side, but it's the best thing I could find. I think I got it from the fencing section at Home Depot. It wasn't by the aluminum screen... I think it's meant for garden fencing or something. It was near the hardware cloth I THINK, but I can't remember...
Anyway, if you can get your hands on the pvc coated cloth as I said above, it's a lot better. By the time I got the screen and the plastic stuff, I spent about 1/3-1/2 what I would have on a big roll of the good stuff. I'm thinking of building another cage soon, and I really wish I had gotten the other stuff!!!
Are you sure that crickets cant escape the PVC hardware cloth?
Im not 100% sure. I haven't used it yet myself, I was talking about it with someone else on here a while ago. Once the 1/4" stuff is coated, it's supposed to be just small enough the full grown crix can't get through. I haven't seen it myself though... Smaller crickets would still be able to get through likely. One of the good things about it is that it is softer than reg hardware cloth, so it doesn't give foot sores.
