Pewter X Albino , Has this been done?

nathan23 Dec 16, 2011 04:40 AM

Has anyone breed ca pewters to a t pos ablbino or into the sharp bloody albinos? Then breed the offspring back together? Just curious as to what the results would be. I cant seem to find any info if anyone is working on this or if it has been done.

The only crosses remotely close to this have been attempted by the Burkes (Burke Reptiles). They crossed a blood to a C.A. t-positive a few years back and have produced visual blood t-positives. Derek Yagi was also part of that project and he produced a few as well. I'm not sure if the anery gene was part of that project, but the anery gene does pop up from time to time with blood litters.

This year the Burkes unintentionally produced a ghost boa in one of there litters with blood albinos, which indicates that the anery gene is present in each of the adults. I write 'unintentionally' because the original pairing was a blood boa to a lipstick sunglow.

These are the only crosses of t-pos and blood, or anery and blood-albino that I know of to date. Bill Gaines produced some triple colored hets this year by breeding a blood boa to a snow. His animals are 100% het for albino, anery, and blood. I believe he has one pair listed for sale in the classifieds.

I hope this helps,
-Anthony

Thanks for the info. I was aware of Bills tripple hets but didn't know about the Burkes breeding them. Im going to look into it further.

What would they be called bloody snows? albino pewters? T pewters? The possibilities are endless !
