Kingsnake basically has been here from the beginning and started all the Reptile web stuff..... and here we sit. This forum barely moves and much of its posters are lost or vacant....WHy?

Political Correctness....

Since Kingsnake is so established and actually is a business and runs as such it MUST worry about liability and people becoming offended. SO it is heavily moderated and controlled. Since the everyone "wins" is used here....we sit in a field of occasional cricket chirps...waiting for something to transpire.

Very sad...... this is a great model of what happens when everyone get's their way...

No more merry Christmas Greetings, no more Xmas Trees..

and No more INTERESTING POSTS and Topics.....

Just middle of the road...... "G" rating not because they want it this way, BECAUSE they have to have it this way or they get endless GRIEF!

I agree with ya man. People come on here to post pics of new snakes they may have gotten or to show off a breeding project they are excited about and not a single reply. That's why i'm glad that I have other options of forums

This is true. This is the only site I go to because it's the only one I've ever had to. It typically has enough threads for me to spend my 15 minutes daily reading them then go through the classifieds to see what everyone has for sale and check prices. This time of year is always slow because all the babies have hatched breeders are pairing snakes up and hoping for a lock so they can post more pics next spring / summer. This is the slowest I've ever seen it. I get on here EVERYDAY!!! I don't post much but I know who all the regulars are and enjoy reading their post and comments. Like Kevin said this is a business and if I have to find another forum I will. I dont have time to check 10 forums a day. I just want 1 GOOD one to keep me caught up on whats going on. I'm sure the kingsnake owners are well aware of the decrease of daily visitors. I don't know what caused it, but I may have to look elsewhere for the latest info if something doesn't change. The reason my posts are few and far between here is because I am often shouted down. Anything beyond basic Mendelian genetics, exploring the realm of profit from Ball Pythons, to what rodent to feed, I often find myself getting told I am wrong wrong wrong. It gets wearisome. Albeit, that is the territory of most forums.

the people only come in here alot now...just tohow off new snakes, morphs and crosses....then the same pic pops up in the classifieds the next day...free advertising for awhile for some people....it's all about the money...don't care who says it's not.....people have nothing to sell or nothing new at the momment..they don't come in here...

friends....they also talk friendly and say they are all friends with each other...yet again...it's all about the cash...friends ...till you pay me off...then bye bye....LOL...

doesn't feel like Christmas....work 10 hours a day...dark when I go in...dark when I get home...just worked 4 am till 12:30 pm today..Saturday...all management takes the weekeds off...they suck...management sucks...always...(includes politicians , all of them)...and we make them look good...working too much....

Very true on soooo many fronts! I come to Kingsnake almost every day and I've done so for years! I used to spend a decent amount of time in the forums, but lately it averages less than 5 minutes. I too would rather visit only one, but unfortunately this is impossible. If I had to pick one, though, it probably wouldn't be Kingsnake.

Those of us that are serious about ball pythons have a ton of information we have to keep up on. There are so many things going on! If we don't we can fall behind on a project or invest in something without knowing certain pitfalls. Kingsnake is not the source of information to do this! Most of the serious breeders are spending their time elsewhere on other forums. Most of the "provacative" subjects are discussed there and would be considered too R-rated for this forum. Much is discussed on Facebook too, and with all of the other options out there I think Kingsnake is suffering because of it.

This was brought up awhile back and I commented there as well. I will always be a Kingsnake user, but that level of use will probably be very low. I hope one day that the filters and restrictions could be lifted, but I just don't see them being able to do.

Is that the fall-off in KS forum traffic would eventually lead to a decline in KS classified looks, which would, I think, inevitably produce a decline in sales. So if the concern here is that the forum is fading away, maybe the focus ought to be on what repercussions that may ultimately have for the classifieds.

Personally I don't see the quantity or quality of dialogue on other forums that has been alluded to in this and prior strings on the same topic. Maybe I'm just looking for love in all the wrong places. But even if that's so, just because you can go to other forums, are you sure you should?

I'm just a hobbyist, and always will be, so maybe I have no business connecting these dots, but it seems to me if you allow the KS BP forum to die, well, you may be putting the KS BP classifieds at risk too. And that cannot be a good thing.

Oh, but, Kevin and Ralph on the same string -- when was the last time you saw that? That's still pretty cool...Dave

I think everyone realizes that they need at least one centralized classifieds place. It gets ridiculous posting the same stuff to 10 different forums

Kingsnake = Classifieds
Fauna = BOI
World of = morph list and genetic thingy
I go somewhere else to talk about reptiles. I still like to come here to keep the traffic up and talk and stuff. It is just the threads here are kinda hard. I hate how each post can go off into different conversations and it gets hard to follow.

shh stop distracting me satan, I need to go to work so I can afford to keep up with this hobby. no time to post. In all seriousness I haven't been around for very long but even in the little over a year I've been coming here regularly I have noticed a serious decline in amount of posts here. Seems like the last time this was active was the fertility/infertility debate of female deserts. since then, like the price of deserts there has been a serious decline in activity. Sucks for me cause I'm going through my first breeding season here and it hardly seems worth it to post here now if I want tips. I have your book and I know how to use google but it seems I have to sign up for 3 or 4 diff forums to find the info I'm looking for and then going between sites to keep up just gets too time consuming and discouraging. oh and I think this is the first time I've ever seen Ralph post in here.

Anyone who regularly browses the Internet forums from car forums to dog forums to any other damn forum for that matter, there is one simple format that is used and very user friendly, thus why EVERYONE uses it. Kingsnake's forum format sucks. It's not rocket science why other choose to go elsewhere for forums they can easily recognize and use efficiently. Here you're stuck clicking on individual posts to read, no easy strings to read and catch up quickly. No real specialized grouping to make browsing easier.

To be completely honest, it's terrible... So how is this even a discussion? Tell kingsnake to change their format and join the modern era, or else keep hearing crickets.

Not to mention, even their classifieds could be improved.

I know Fauna has forums...I think the layout there sucks and don't bother with it...ever....

I know a couple breeders might have forums..but...why bother...they are for buttlickingfanclubwannabees....usually...

they all have the same type of format...

why was the one person whining about this format ???...this format makes more sense to me....

I do not like the other formats.....and don't some of them bump the thread to the top if you reply to it?....why...then the same one is at top....and I gotta click to see what all it is..who wrote it...here...I just open forum...and I can see who wrote what...

except...people are too lazy to rewrite the headline...duh...makes it easier....especially if you could get whole message IN the headline....

I usually don't post much on here although I check in everyday to see what is going on and try learn all that I can. I think alot of you are right, everyone is focused on the new breeding season and Christmas.I also think that some new people don't post very much because they are scared off when they ask a question and are treated like they are stupid, they are just trying to learn.Let the drama be between the people who post all the time.Just my two cents.

Kevin, Please post a pic of the Asystole now that it has more size and presumably a couple of sheds. I won't feel like you are just trying to show that your's is bigger, I want to see that snake!
