Yes they are. That is the thing that kills me the most. We have to fight the media in trying to show just what amazing animals snakes really are. It's the main reason I go out to my local pet shop EVERY Sat. that I'm not at a show. Yeah I want to get my name out there more to help on the business end, but if I don't sell anyhing, but can still convert someones opinion on snakes..... then it was a successful day. It's an uphill battle and isn't gonna be won overnight, but it's a mountain I aim to tame!! Buckle down men, we're in for one hell of a ole' fashioned gun fight that will make the OK Corral look like peace on earth.........

This poll is just plain stupid.

First off, define "exotic". If it is a bengal tiger that would eat your child just as easily as a deer, then that is one thing. If it is ball python, then of course not. Polls like this are just playing to the ignorance of people.

On top of that, a poll like this has no statistical value anymore than an observation that a clutch with 7 males and 1 girl means that 88% of ball pythons are male.

My take, don't waste your time.

OK...look at it this way:
If the poll goes in favor of the no's then its just more for the politicians to use in their favor....if it is close then they will ignore it...which would you rather have....an extra bullet in their guns or a miss fire...so yes it matters even if it doesn't get used

There is no definition because they don't intend to define anything inside "Exotic". They aim to clump everything that isn't a dog or house cat into "Exotic". So basically, they will want to ban everything they can get their greedy little hands on. So know it's not a waste of time because ball pythons are being thrown in with everything else here...... and you better believe that. It's how politicians work. They want people to think of the incident in Ohio and then go from there...........

who cares what it says they will just put up whatever they feel like like they have many times in the past. You can get more useful information reading "The Onion"

Its that kind of reasoning that passed the laws that state I cant own a monkey in PA but if I drive an hour and had a home in Delaware I can. Would rather say I tried then just laid down and died.

and I thought of this one...people want Fox news they might Google it...and a link will come up to this thread now...because it says Fox News at the beginning of the title...so we need to post more threads on Fox News unfair,unjust,biased,bigoted ,wrong etc etc, about snakes and snake owners....

....people are basically wrong..stupid..and won't change...we all agree on that one.....

It is important that all who read this forum cast your vote "yes". With all the negative publicity on shows like "Fatal Attractions", we need all your input. As far as owning anything exotic, native, ect., education is by far the most important rule of thumb before considering such a commitment. So, if we want to continue our hobby or business, participation in this poll to help turn the numbers around is just one small way each of us can be of some influence on dumb lawmakers.
