So the clips for Monday's episode of Fear Factor show contestants being placed in a large coffin type box full of ball pythons. Hopefully they don't get portrayed as being dangerous or anything, but that wouldn't make for good tv would it?

I could be wrong but if you watch the trailer clips it looks like they have to move the animals using only their mouths.. If that is the case i wouldnt be suprised if someone did get bite while doing so. Not only could the animals possibly get hurt but if someone gets bit in the face on national television im sure that it will make our hobby look like a more "dangerous" one then already headlined. I hope that no negativity comes to the trade because the producers of a "reality" television show had to up the ratings at the snakes expense.

Would they be able to air people biting puppies??? lol ??? And what if those puppies bit someone, would we no longer be aloud to own dogs of that breed??

Stupid people doing stupid things, that reflect on our hobby. I may just be ranting but i feel that the "fear factor" show only makes peoples fears worse. For those that dont like snakes, im sure they will like them less after all the drama the show has added.

Ok im done.. Lol ..
I hope im wrong in my assumptions of how i percieved the commercial i saw..

If Fear Factor wanted to improve ratings, let them spend a night sleeping over in NY's Central Park northwest area, without a security contigent. Now that's realtiy TV. mike

When it was on years ago they were put into a pit of corn snakes and had to sort them, put the light ones on one side and dark ones on the other. They were literally throwing the snakes into the bins. I totally freaked out. I honestly think I have some post traumatic stress disorder from watching it... I'm gettting all upset just remembering. They broke the jaw of one poor snake so it was sitting there with it's mouth hanging open, since it couldn't close it. They kept zooming in on what they were thinking was a mean snake baring it's "fangs" but anyone with a hint of snake experience could tell it was in fact a mortally wounded suffering animal. I never watched the show again after that episode and joined thousands of other snake lovers in writing in to say how horrible it was that they were torturing and killing animals like that. I'm not happy to hear they are going to be at it again with snakes. I'm afraid to watch it...

We used to watch the show all the time and it really is sad what they put those animals thru I am surprised that they are not hit with animal cruelty charges. Animals get smashed, dropped, thrown, hit, etc in these stunts.

I guess on the plus side I am sure there is some legal mumbo jumbo that states they cannot use harmful animals in these stunts - which would play into the argument that balls are harmless animals.

Now if they are transferring them with their mouths that is just gross - poo and salmonella aren't something I would stick in my mouth for a game show.
