Ok all you paypal users, check this out. I did exactly what was suggested to me and went and sent a payment to the seller of the snakes I wanted. I clicked send money and went through the process. It allowed me to send the money, even debited the money from the account. Gave me a confirmation that the money had been sent. didn't ask for any verification or anything of the sort. Then 5 minutes later they sent the seller an email saying the payment had been reversed. When he called paypal to see what was up, they told him I was trying to use a stolen credit card. Needless to say I am so frigin p.o.d right now I'm shaking typing this. when I called Paypal they said that it was reversed because I hadn't yet verified my account. The money has been credited back to the card but it'll take 3-5 days for me to get it. WHAT???? Blaming it on my bank. I understand that banks can take a while to add charges back to an account, but paypal should have told me this up front.
I talked to chad a supervisor and he simply said there was nothing he could do. When I said you could make sure that this seller gets his money. You know my card is good because you've already debited it once. His reply was "you mean you want me to use paypals money to straighten this out?" Isn't that what businesses do when they screw something up? I wouldn't be complaining if they had told me up front that there would be a verification process, I would have just canceled it and done something else. But they didn't, they went ahead and debited the money, sent me a confirmation, and THEN notified the seller of a problem. They still haven't notified me. If the seller hadn't called me I still wouldn't know it.
These sorry sad sack s.o.b.s will never get another nickel of my business again. I already had bad dealings with them before over their crappy customer service. I won't even take a payment from them any more. I'll keep all my snakes first. It's ridiculous. Now I can't even make the deal. I don't have that kind of money laying around in bundles, and I'm guessing with the holidays it'll be even longer. Not to mention it is ridiculous to ask this seller to wait on someone he doesn't even know, especially when he's been told now I'm trying to use a stolen credit card.
