Stupid question about rat size..

pinkypie Jan 02, 2012 11:47 AM

Okay so I traded my evil jcp off as a breeder.I have about 2 dozen frozen small rats in my freezer(I forgot to give them to the guy).
My two biggest snakes are my Sonoran gopher that is a little over 3ft and a big honduran male(I traded this for the jcp) the hondo is fat, the guy fed him hamsters.I did use one of my small rats and the hondo didnt have a problem but I think since he is so fat I dont want to feed him too much now.Not sure how to put a snake on a diet?
Im not sure if the gopher can handle the small rats either.Do think it will hurt if I try giving them to the gopher?
Could I cut heads off the rats to make them smaller, would they still eat them that way?

Am I just being stupid, I have a tendency to be that way most days...

My Pacific gopher will eat the big old breeder mice I cull out to my cat even though the cat sometimes will only eat the heads and feet off.

The snake doesn't care. It is rather disgusting to pick up the mangled body of the cat's leftover meal but she seems to like it.
