I have a male orange ghost and a female spider. Does the female need to be het for orange ghost in order to possibly get a honey bee? What would this breeding bring?

Yes..she must be a visible or heterozygous gene carrier for you to make any ghost in the first generation.
That breeding of a Dominant - SPider x Simple recessive Orange Ghost would yield...
50% spiders (in theory) that are ALL 100% Heterozygous Orange Ghost gene carriers!
