A moment to reflect. For everyone...

What is the single morph that caught your eye and hooked you on ball pythons?

Some might say that there are a few, but there had to be that "one" that caught your eye the most and had you excitedly looking at others and BAM....ball lover for life..lol.

Mine was the Piebald. The only ball pythons I had ever seen were normals at pet stores, and then I herd about a place called Lee Watsons Reptile Swap. I didn't know what to expect, but the first morph that I saw was a Piebald, and my eyes were like saucers. I must have talked to that guy for an hour. So naturally after experiencing that, I herd about NARBC. My first visit to the Tinley show I was fortunate enough to see NERD. He had a super mojave (NFS) and I have a soft spot for all white animals, so I picked up a pair of mojavies through out that year, and my first breeding attempt (3 years later) I yielded 5 eggs...1 normal, 3 mojavies, and 1 lucy..one of the happiest days of my life....I was hooked!

I am interested in EVERYONES short story about their introduction into one of the most rewarding hobbies on earth.

Actually, a normal! When I got into them, there were no morphs! I do remember when the albino was produced and a thing called "Jungle", til this day has not been duplicated!

For me it was a spider!! Went to a local show and there it was sitting on the table with a 2000 dollar price tag. At the time I was a huge leopard gecko guy. I also had a few boas. I'm now out of geckos and my balls out number my boas 10to1. Nothing likee them. Now my 7 year old son has his own projects. My three year old daughter is obsessed with them. Anytime I go in my room she must follow. I love this industry!!

The one that hooked me (like many others) was the bumblebee. I had a normal ball and a childrens python at the time. I went to an NARBC show in Arlington Texas and was blown away by all the morphs. I bought a pastel and spider that year (2006) and 2 years later produced my first bee. Every year since then I've had a different goal snake, but still LOVE to see a bumblebee head poking out of the egg! Chris Hall
