As mentioned earlier... I found my King snake the next day... thank God. Then the night after that I found one of the mice. A pregnant one. She had her babies the next morning. My question is.... they say that it takes a few days for decon to kill mice. I don't know if she ate any of it, but if she did will her babies have enough poison in them to hurt a snake if fed to them?

As far as I know decon works within a couple hours... When the mouse eats it..it causes a major cell bleed out... Their cell walls destabalize and collapse and they die of internal hemorraging. I'd say if she's still alive, went through birthing fine, didn't have excessive bleeding during birth and everything then she didn't get into any of the poison.

I used decon in our house where we had a major mouse infestation at one point in the basement.. they'd gotten into all our stuff.. In 2 days there was only one live mouse left.. and that sucker wouldn't eat the poison so we let our cat go down there.. Little mouse went bye bye.

I think it takes more than a few hours actually. I watched one wild mouse eat the stuff and was back the next day... but he wasn't very hungry. I caught him that night in a mouse trap.

Just letting ya all know that the ma ma mouse is still alive and nursing her 10 babies. Still didn't find my litte pet girl though. I didn't mean to get so fond of the silly little thing.
