Just sharing latest photo of arcifera

wildlines Jan 16, 2012 04:08 PM

This is the latest photo of one of my L.t.arcifera that hatched in 2011. It is one of the type with less black pigment. I also have several with a lot of black in the pattern.

This is the dam and 2 males that she was with last spring. I believe the male that more closely resembles her is the sire but can't be positive. I have recently been privileged to see many photos of arcifera from the wild and that beautiful offspring I posted seems to be the more common look of wild arcifera. Out of all the photos only 2 had the extensive black pigment that we have come to associate with arcifera in captivity. They are beautiful snakes regardless of which pattern they may have.

My mistake, this is the Dam of the 2011 brood.

ahh yesss!!,......as Cole mentioned, those DO represent the natural arcifera phenotypes fabulously!......thanks for posting those!

I like that third one a lot... every time you post pics of your arcifera I wonder why I want to wait another 2 years to get a pair... very nice!

Here are a couple of the darker arcifera. I will hopefully have a litter of those this summer.

Very nice indeed!,....

I also like the last one there with the trademark heavy black expanding rings and pronounced cross-overs into the RBR...

Thanks Doug, That's the only one I have with a head band like that. There's lot's of variation in these guys but I like all of them so far.

DMong Jan 17, 2012 08:46 PM

Yes, I would certainly like ALL of those too!

cheers, ~Doug

Really nice critters, Jack! Like I said through e-mail, they perfectly represtent the natural vatiation seen in the Chapala/Guadalajara area arcifera. Just outstanding.

Thanks again Cole, You really got me fired up about these guys and other milksnakes. You're going to cost me a small fortune before it's over. Haha.
