Promote this Message - Regarding Ban

There NEEDS to be a Major reptile conference very soon, that all of us can attend, to address the Ban and other negative upcoming issues! USARK needs to be there and we need to fight back. We need someone to LEAD THIS FIGHT......who's it going to be???

There has to be something that can be done. We need somebody that is a MAJOR FORCE in the reptile Industry that can lead a fight. This needs to be viewable on the internet and advertised EVERYWHERE by EVERYONE !

This fight will cost money. Donations should be made.

Would USARK be the entity to accomplish this? I do not know, maybe.

Even though the Ban just happened, we need to be on top of this. If not it is only going to get worse. Some may say, don't jump the gun just yet. I say we must act immediately!

Sincerely,

Karl Buckler

We need to bring pijac back to the forefront of things and let them handle this.
They have been doing it for years and represent the entire animal industry so will get a lot more recognition as a whole.
The legal status they have has long been known and they have the lawyers and legal knowledge to do this.

If we stand against it as "just snake people" we will not seem as important as we will as the animal industry as a whole.

Our enemies want us to single ourselves out from the rest of the animal industry because they know it is there only chance to win. If we stand as a whole we stand a chance!

Hopefully they can help us, as they are our best chance to do so!

Most of us in the reptile hobby do not have tons of money. We work 40 hours a week at regular jobs on top of having to maintain our hobbies. Unfortunately that means that most of us can't afford to do too much in the fight, other than making meager donations or sending letters.
On the other side of the fence, there are a lot of people fighting for the bans that have lots and lots of money. They have lots and lots of spare time and devote many hours fighting to take away the animals that we love. Look at how much money USARK is able to spend each year lobbying for us. Then compare that to the amount HSUS gets to spend. I think I read somewhere that USARK spent something like $1200 last year for travel expenses? Well HSUS spends $5 million alone each year in travel expenses. In 2008 HSUS had a budget of $99.7 million and $162 million in assets. I don't think USARK will ever be able to stand up to that kind of clout.
This unfortunately was just proven. Now I am not saying that we should all just give up and stop fighting. We should never give up the good fight. It is though inevitable that we are going to lose at some point.

Who knows, maybe I am wrong. I sure hope so!

Wayne Pacelle, CEO of HSUS reports on the constrictor ban in
"Wayne's Blog". He's obviously not happy with the current constrictor ban, so we better be getting some kind of plan in order soon. He is a very powerful man with unlimited $$$ and
manpower at his fingertips.
