Lafy Belle's antics

ecb Oct 03, 2003 07:58 AM

She dove nearly head first into the food dish, viciously ambushed those sneaky mealworms (ate 2 of them) then had trouble jumping out
she jumped up on the edge of the dish, but with her upper legs hooked on the edge of the dish, her back feet could not reach the floor well enough for her to push herself out of the dish. but she was bobbing up and down, just not with enough force to get over the edge of the dish (the pic is not her, but its the same position)
it was funny looking, in a sad kinda way
but she is eating, and eating well
I guess (hope) the other two are as well

That's why I don't usually use glass. It's just too slick!

I use little glazed flower pot saucers. They are shallow enough for the babies to get out of and slick enough to keep the mealies in unless they hitch a ride out with the baby. That does happen occasionally and therefore I do have some mealies in the substrate. I figure they just become part of the habitat and they don't seem to hurt anything.
