Petco surprise!

kingofspades Jan 19, 2012 06:25 PM

I was in my local Petco last night and I always look at the ball pythons (sometimes interesting stuff slips through).
I look up and I am like "That looks a lot like...OH!"
They are selling a spider!

It was $229. Terrible price if it's male, decent if it was female. It was actually a pretty decent looking spider too. I was just surprised. Usually it's ugly normals and the occasional dinker like this girl that I bought for $30 from the same store.

I am thinking if I fall into some extra cash soon and it's a female, I might snag it. (The spider)

I haven't checked petco in a long time. I guess they are getting pastels and spiders now. Kind of surprised they would want to deal with spiders just because of the spinning issue and the uneducated buyers that will probably end up returning them. I guess it is probably doubtful that they would even know themselves about the issue.

wow thats crazy because my girlfriend called me today to tell me she saw in the petco near her house(rochester ny) that the petco had "Enchi" ball pythons for $55. I'm going up to see her in a few weeks and if there still there ill take a pic and see if you guys think there "enchi" and if they are i might just pick up the whole cage
good luck with the spider.

The Petland in Rockford IL sells Spiders, Pastels, and Mojaves. They have also had albino boas too.

Think franchise vs. chain.
Petco = chain
Petland = franchise

I think a petland would definately carry more unique animals based upon the fact that the individual owner can buy animals from anyone, and not a corporate availability list.

makes me mad when people attack franchises........just like our hobby- the bad mistakes of a few make everyone look bad! Even though the majority is innocent.
