shedding? (NOT the usual)

hgiddings Oct 03, 2003 08:50 AM

Why does my snake seem to be getting lighter every time he sheds? I thought they were supposed to become more brown as they got older? He is in excellent condition and is an '03 and I'm not going to recite all of my husbandry unless I really have to in order to get a good answer. All input is appreciated

I have seen alot of CH animals get much prettier and brighter the longer they are in good conditions and healthy. I would say this has alot to do with it. Think about the stress put on an animal, once it hatches, it is put in a box and sent over to the US. From there they are picked through, and probably left in bad concitions, in most cases, and finally some are bought by a responsible person who cages them seperatly and start "caring" for the animals. This whole process could take a month or more. So if you have a CH animal, itis very possible it is still getting used to the right conditions. So when it does shed, it looks even better then it has in the past. I would say you are doing everything correctly, and it is showing in your animal. Just an idea.

Nice thought process but my guy is CB. I've never had any kind of trouble with him other than he has an overwhelming "personality" and gets into everything
