SAO PAULO Brazilian Amarali's

lrdj Jan 21, 2012 09:27 AM

Not every boa is colorful.... that is the neatness of this hobby. We are able to appreciate the ugly ducklings as well....

These Amaral’s boas were born on July 8th of 2007 at H.J. Winner facility in Germany. The Danish bloodline has provenance to Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Thanks for looking!

Not that I am an expert on Sao Paulo Brazilians as probably nobody in the US is. 20 years ago I obtained a male that was supposed to have come from Sao Paulo. Bill Gill, now deceased, had a female that was also supposed to have come from Sao Paulo. We tried a breeding arrangement, but were unsuccessful in reproducing any. They both looked exactly like this though. A bit short and stocky for sure. Neat animals.

I'm also a big fan of ugly, colorless true Amaral boas. These guys and gals are really stumpy.
Here's some of mine, I think they're pretty similar to yours, they are not from Danish bloodline, though. Danish line has become quite rare in Europe due to some health issues (I'm sure you are aware of that). Happy to see yours are doing well.
