Jorge, thanks and it is hard to say. Probably not much I have another female that might hold onto her red much better. Nine babies from this years hatch have exceptional contrast and most will still turn a brownish red, but they still will be killer animals with clean backgrounds. My favorite LTT is not red at all, but has a VERY clean light tan background color with brown saddles. He almost looks like velvet to me, with an awesome sheen. Anyway, there are some LTT from Baltimore and some from VA that I have seen with red as adults. But not many.

Thanks Joe, I guess that is about normal for the Easterns. My friend used to catch some in N. Carolina that were a silvery Gray. I guess red is for the Red Milks. I eventually want to get some Red Milks again. Maybe this year, who knows. I have to prioritize my collection quite a bit, and get rid of some projects if I ever want to add anything else, lol.

no problemo Jorge. NC silver gray huh? I have ONE adult male with that coloration. I guess that is why I like LTT so much, they are like a box of chocolates!! LOL

GONE FISHING!!!

Hey Joe -- nice animals all. Congrats. I especially love eastern milks, especially when the background is clean and not "muddied", as is often the case with wild specimens I've seen in southeastern PA and in NJ.

Those red blotches are awesome and I hope it holds up as the animal reaches adulthood. BTW, have you ever kept Coastal Plains milks? They're real pretty, but teeny tiny when they're born, which might be a problem finding appropriate sized food items for them . . .

Thanks for sharing the pictures -- they brighten up an otherwise cold, dull gray day!

Thanks for the kind words Tom! I have not yet kept Temporalis, however I have been trying to find my own in the wild for several years now in MD. Sneaky little bastards have eluded me so far. It took me many years to figure out the eastern milks in my area. Now I have them down to a science and can almost count on finding at least one every time I go out. (given the right time of year of course). Hopefully I can eventually figure out the Temporalis and have the same, if not some success. If not, I will eventually break down and buy some. I just love knowing where my stock comes from, like finding them myself

Joe, As always....Nice stuff.

I like the high bar count on that chain. Kind of reminds me of a FL king.

joecop Jan 22, 2012 04:55 PM

Thanks Paul. Yeah, she is a very nice EK for St. Mary's. The father to this girl is one of the nicest I have seen and was caught by Phil Patton and myself the same day we caught the mother, about one hundred yards apart. LOCALE!! LOL. Can't wait for spring my friend, I know we are going to have a blast.

Thanks John. Got four of those pretty little critters from my Santa Cruz female this year. I am giving two of them to friends and keeping the other pair.
