Candy Stripe litter variety...

rainbowsrus Jan 26, 2012 03:50 PM

I still get blown away daily when I check on these gems. Of course the four amazing Candy Stripe animals are insane. The others are not too shabby as well

Following this post will be individual group posts on what I think are "normals" "Het Candy Stripes" "Super Candy Stripes" and one more on Candy Soup.

This has been an amazing few months, watching them grow and mature. Still a long way to go but it still feels like day one, amazed and blown away. Discussions with friends and family have led me to a revelation. I believe the Super Candy Stripes to be the most intense looking BRB's ever created. Even more intense than the lone WC Albino. If that is correct, I have in my possession the top four BRB's ever!! And the only known carriers of the gene. How's that for a mind blowing thought?

A couple of "normals" from the litter....

Zytka - Female

Zarah - Female

There are several others but most were in shed. I'm calling this group "normal" since they do not show clear signs of the Candy Striped trait. They very well could be hets if the triat is actually recessive.

This group has the same dorsal striping the parents had to one degree or the other. I suspect this is the heterozygous expression of the Candy Stripe trait.

Zsuzsanna - Female "Het"

Zion - Male "Het"

Zsa Zsa - Female "Het"

Zachary - Male "Het"

Zadie - Female "Het"

And some wicked cool group shots.......

Zeus and Zena - the top two cleanest Super Candy Stripe babies

Zorba and Zeus - Two variations of Super Candy Stripe...

Zorba, Zeus and Zena - Three of the four Super Candy Stripes in existence.

Zorba, Zeus and Zadie - Two Supers with a het for comparison...

Zorba, Zeus, Zadie and Zachary - Two Supers and two hets for comparison.

All the descriptions based on my assumption that the gene is co-dominant.
