I am arriving in Austin the weekend for a medical conference next week. Any recommendations on were to look for herps? I appreciated some earlier suggestions and did some web surfing. Is Bastrop State Park a good site?

Any recommendations will be genuinely appreciated.

I've never been to bastrop before. But i have camped at Pedernales Falls State Park near Johnson City. Thats not too far. They have some great trails. I saw a five foot rattler on some rocks last year just a few feet from where people were swimming. You should be able to see lots of herps there this time of year.
