P. Terribilis

My understanding is that the Phyllobates are difficult to sex, is this true?

I have a oceanic slantview. The base is about 24x24 inches. I was thinking of having in the area of 2-4 frogs. Is 4 going to be too crowded?

Sorry to say they are..females are a little bigger then males and females also tend to be a little rounder then males. Calling really is not a good sign of sex either as both sex's of terribilis and bicolor will call. You best bet is to get a group of at least 3, 4 or more to start with..they do very well in groups and will gladly eat you out of house and home.

My slantview has a 24x24in. base. Is this going to be enough space for 3 or for terribilis or bicolor?

Depending on what you want the bicolors I got from Patrick Nabors in May are awesome.Mine have almost blaze orange backs that fade to green on the legs with black bellies. They are not scared of anything. One was at the top of the tank when I was dumping flies in tonight and it got to the top and jumped onto my hand and I just set it into the tank and it hopped off and went hunting! Freaked me out!
