Baby Fix For The Day! Pics!

LindsayMarie May 27, 2003 08:41 AM

The babies are less then 1 week old still, some just a couple days old. I didnt get a chance to take many pictures, just a couple of pics of the easiest to catch babies I hope to get some pictures of the most colorful of the clutch soon. Probably within the week. But to me, their all beautiful, regardless. As long as their healthy, eating, alert and happy I am HAPPY!

This guy looks to be a male.

Another picture of the same guy! He has a crazy personality just like his Daddy

A couple of sweeties and their not afraid of my hand *smiles*

This is the only dragon I went chasing after to take a picture of!LOL It looks to be a female. I couldnt quite capture the weird looking color she is. She is very light (lighter then the rest of the clutch) with a pink look to her! Very cute too Also she was a little irritated and darker in the picture then I was hoping she would be. Trying to grab her out of the cage turned her darkish, as usual!

Like I said I didnt take many pictures. They are only 3-6 days old or so, so I have plenty of time for pictures, I hope! I still havent decided if I am going to try and sell them as a whole group (at around 2-3 weeks of age), or if I am going to try and sell them individually. There is just so little room here, plus I have another clutch due to hatch in a couple weeks. Not to mention all the other beardie breeders out their! Most will probably think mine are ugly compared to others out there. Too many people only care about screaming color, not over all health, temperment, size etc (its sad). My little ones are getting good color though, so thats a plus. They are from excellent blood lines and are BEAUTIFUL in my opinion

Let me know what you think of the cuties, Lindsay

I think they're more attractive than many of the "screaming colours."

Great pics!

Don't worry, there are many people who don't care about all the color. There are also many people who can't afford screaming prices, and there are those who can but won't. There is room out there for all kinds of dragons.

Now,,, I think you are cutting yours a bit short. I think they are very nice. Sometimes pattern & contrast can make for a much prettier dragon, IMO.

Good luck & keep up the good work with your creatures.

I agree!! My first Dragon I went looking for one with some Red and awsome patterns. He, sadly, didn't go past 5 months. Vet said Cancer. The 2nd one I bought was purchased only because he ate like a horse when there was small crickets dumped in front of him. He was soooooooo very small and I thought he wouldn't make it either but he did. He is a very very tame guy. 3 years now and he has had 3 clean vet visits in a row!
Anyway. For me color doesn't realy matter. HEALTH and personality are #1 in my book!!

These girls did not show any color as babies, actually they were a dull graphite color for a few months then started changing, they have been bred for health and heartiness...... and gave us a pleasant surprise in addition!

Your little girl on the bottom of your pictures look much like Sherbert did with a pink/peach color, but Sherbert did not show it til about 3 months so I think you will have a nice bright color baby there.

The one looking at the camera has the sweetest looking face, are they as calm as they appear in the photos or did you drug them! mine never sit still as babies to get pictures like that!

The ones I took pictures of (except little peachy-pinky gal) all are easy to handle. Thats why I took pictures of them and not others at this point! I have 5 cats and a 1 year old lab that would jump on a chance to terrorize a lose baby so I am a little nervous holding them with a camera in one hand, only leaving me with one hand to hold them. Now, I have no problem picking them up, when I have two hands It makes it safer.

My baby dragons usually tame down fast since I hold them anywhere from 3-4 times a day. Between cleaning cages, hand feedng liquids, bathing and just plain ol mommmy mugging!LOL The little pinkish gal was hard to catch in her cage, but once she was in my hand, she was fine, but I was still a little nervous she was going to run (but she didnt)!

I just love the little babies! Their so precious.
Thanks, LindsayMarie

I like beardies with or without colors and as long as they are healthy that's all that matters. We have a beardie we call sand phase as a joke becuase he is the wierdest beige color I have seen but he is beautiful to me. =)
