Price for 100% Het Pied Breeder Fem

rocket Feb 02, 2012 08:36 AM

I am selling 2 100% het pied females. Proven breeders but they haven't produced any pieds yet. They had paperwork but I can't find it now, of course. What is fair market value for these girls? I asked $300 a piece and was told by one person that it was way too high. Seriously? Just wanted more input. Thanks.

The $300 isn't really high. What did you breed them to and not get any pieds? That is the more important question. Nobody wants a $300 normal.

Breed to 100% het pied male from same breeder with paperwork. Male and one female have pied markers above vent.

If I sold my het pieds...proven het and proven breeders...I'd get $1000 each....

you have not proven the het part...thusly....you get low offers....

it happens...it's late in the year...might as well breed them again and prove them het pied...get eggs...make cash....then sell them for $750 each.......as soon as you prove them HET Pied....

....normals go for $20 and up.....people will be asking questions.....your paperwork is gone...and it would need photo ID proof also to go with thr piece of paper...

...good luck...breed them now....

Really? Why would I pay $1000 for a het Pied when I can buy a Pied for $900? Yes, it would be a juvenile but I can grow a male in one year. I have het Pieds, 1.1 bought from the SnakeKeeper many years ago that I paid $750 each for. They have given me the many Piebalds that are now my breeders. If I were to sell the hets today....proven with papers, my price on the pair would be around $1600. I would not think a male het Pied alone would bring $1000. Just my two cents.

I think he's talking proven het pied breeder sized females. It took me years to get them to breeder size and I don't think I'd sell my adult het pied females for $1,000 but I gave 3 hatchling females that I was sure where hets away this year (50 – 66% hets with excellent markers).

I have one I wouldn't take less than $3K for. She's 5500 grams at normal weight and throws 14 eggs every year. She will be getting some Pied combos in the next year or so. I think $1000 for any decent size proven female het is a good price.
